weighed the boat today

called venture and gave them model #, they said 1420
unhitched the hull and trailer on the scale it said 3860

so without battery, engine, exhaust, transom assembly and drive, and unknown what if anything is in the tank, she tipped in at 2440
everything else is there pumps, steering, cables, wiring, everything, boat is 26x8

what do you think

class6 06-27-2016 04:00 PM

Sounds like you got a wave crusher for sure. Maybe re think your horse power a bit. I'm sure it's going to be a awesome great ride when your done

outonsafari 06-27-2016 07:37 PM

so heavy then?
i cannot see where the weight is, she's not cored hull or sides and the deck is not made to have the strippers up there

thought i read a 24 weighed in at 3400 turn key but that might have been disinformation

Baja Rooster 06-27-2016 07:44 PM

If you're looking at OEM advertised weights I think they fill the boat with helium balloons when weighing the beasts.

outonsafari 06-27-2016 07:51 PM

no oem anything on mine, the advertised 3400 i got off panteras site, and i think mange said his 24 was 3400 give or take.
speaking of mange where the hell has he and that orange rocket of his been

6, i am rethinking the engine,
i'm thinking if your going after a twin ob cat, you could email me the parts list for that engine you spec'd out last month,

1000 lbs of water in the transom/hull?

outonsafari 06-30-2016 06:09 PM

6, i would appreciate that,
but i can't say that's what will end up in there.
actually just broke down the dummy stringers and transom (new boat stringers are taller, thicker, and farther apart) have to rebuild to new specs.
besides i gotta stay on 1 part of the project at a time. boat first, pulley to prop shaft second.

pismo, believe it or not i had a good laugh about that, but i would be very surprised if that boat had any water issues

Pismo10 06-30-2016 06:20 PM

Water in the transom, hull is so much more common than people think..
