Gasket and clean - flat surfaces are need - the hose needs to be clear and unrestricted and always a new IAC muffler once min per year. All intake tracts need to be clean for IAC longevity period.
Fought with this issue for the better part of a season, multiple scans over time before it finally posted a problem.

Default Exhaust leak casing engine to stumble at idle

so we have been trouble shooting a bad idle (worst when cold), after changing the iac, figrured bad gas, district cap, fuel water separators, its an exhaust leak between the riser and my tailpipes. The engine is ingesting exhaust fumes and its wreaking havoc at idle.. open the engine compartment send issue subsides. Going to add high temp gasket Sealant, and bet it will go away...

You must not have a 496 - distrib cap ?

Exhaust Riser and tail leak - you would see water leaking as well ?
