Not sure what your price point for considering "giving them away", but I'd be interested as I'm at the junction of rebuilding my 454 Mag EFI's or just buying a pair of motors to re-power.

Thanks,
Jimmy

Several years ago we had a friend at our local lake in central IL pick up a 38 Fourntain w/ carbed 500s that the previous owner installed 250s on (single carb blower setup). The new owner didn't get to enjoy the boat for very long before the engines stopped. I'm not an engine expert and understand proper setup is key but I remember the conclusion of the problem was one carb and not good fuel distribution to all cylinders causing certain cylinders to run lean. I'm sure the setup can run well with the proper guidance but you asked for real world experience. Good luck, your cat should really wake up with some huffers!

How about Prochargers for the 500efis? Did anyone see or read about Paramount race boat winning 2016 Carib Great Race? Steve Morris converted 600 cube motors from carbed 14-71 blowers to fuel injected Prochargers and power went from 1100 to 1800hp per motor??? They then when on to win brutal 90 mile offshore race, damn!

Offshore excursion had good luck on 500efi motors in his 33 OL. My m3sc's were carb box setup on 555s. Had to weld a dam in the inlet to redirect air as it would cancel signal to the front right Venturi. Ended up back NA. When it ran it really ran though

I have the blower shop 250 kits . They are really good. I run 2 throttle bodies on top them. So I can say if a single carb is good or not. On another boat I had a 510 with a b and m blower. Single dominator. Ran great. Great MPG. But no top end really.. Was great out of the hole though. If you want top end you need 2 carbs. The 250 series blowers like intercoolers, cause they make a lot of heat. I have the Teague super chillers. Without EFI, you need to run completely separate plumbing so they only work as you go .
