Hi guys. My boat is finally dialed in, so I am trying to help a friend. He has a 468 with Gil's. The boat runs great, but when he shuts it off... Couple hours later... He has water in oil. Any ideas? I was thinking exhaust issue. The boat can run all day and not mix, shut it off.... Screwed.

maybe a bad oil cooler.

yes,remove it and pressure test the water side.

If the oil cooler is leaking you normally loose oil into the water system. Oil is 60 psi and water is only 15 or so psi.

Does he have the turbulaters installed btwn the risers and manifolds. Also what kind of cam is he running?

So while it's running the oil would be pressing out into the water, but if it's leaking bad enough than water can drain back into the oil when it's under no pressure, right? I'm asking for myself as well.

Not sure about the turbulater... I will check. He is running a pretty good size cam, I will get actual specs from him later this evening.

If it is leaking bad enough you run out of oil quickly.
