Default MEFIBURN tuning help

am having a problem getting files to download to my mefi 3 ecm after using tuner pro. When i go to upload the files to the mefi 3 it gets to 96% and then says upload error please check your connections to the mefi and make sure it is on. I have checked and everything is functioning as it should, checked the bus monitor in the mefiburn program and data appears to be flowing fine. I am able to upload from the ecm but can not download the new tune to it. Has anyone else had this problem? Tried resetting the ecm, and did all the steps outlined in the help sections of mefiburn.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Anyone who has successfully done this it would be awesome to hear from as well.

I have had them get to 96 % and stop with a message that adx file or something didnt match, when you would download it it seems like it also says there is a error and needs to be fixed, only way I got around it was to re-write the whole file onto another program that didnt contain a error and re-upload it, not sure if your having the same problem, call bob at mefi burn.

Talking to my son the message we get when this happens is "checksum error", when that happens we have to switch to a completely different tune, he has opened the compare bin file feature and tried to fix all the binary code differences and still wouldnt upload

The problem may very well be in the cable. I had similar issues. It would load to various % and then bam. Tried it for weeks. Then contacted MefiBurn and they warranted the cable. Said they had some with problems. They replaced it with no hesitation. Hats off to them. Worked flawlessly after that. You will need to send them the cable. talk with them first to try to make sure that is the problem.

Give this a try. When you are loading/downloading, squeeze the part of the USB end of the cable that you hold when you plug the cable into your computer. And just keep constant pressure on it while it's loading although as best i remember it may have continued to load after i let off, not sure. Squeeze with your fingers placed on the NARROW sides(1/4" thick or so, NOT ON THE WIDER flat part(3/4" or so). Mefi told me to try this to see if it was a bad USB end. Well it loaded. That told me and them that is was indeed a defective cable.

Hope this helps. PM me if needed as sometimes i may not check this site for a few days and this thread may be down the list.

Find another computer and load the software into it. I had same problem when I first got the software, swore they sold me junk, etc. turned out my computer had issues with com port 4 and the other computer worked fine. Good luck finding Windows xp or vista operating system anymore. The problem computer would communicate and display all the scanner dash items and even upload from MEFI system, just would not download, got to 96% and says check connections. Remember MEFI 3 time out after about 2 minutes and you need to turn the key off for 10 seconds and back on to complete download.
