Sounds like what we have here is a few fare weather boaters. Definitely not a hobby for the weak at heart.

I am far from that, I don't know many that would still be going like I am after what I been through, I will get past this too, if there are issues the power will change but I don't ever see getting out of boating... been a part of my life since I was a kid.

Yeah ok, I`m guessing it`s much easier when you have someone else do all the work and just write a check?
100`s of hours in the garage and bilge plus all the $$ gets old.
Take the frustration you had with the extension box carrier multiply that by a 1000 and then come talk to me.

Imagine doing what you've mentioned for the past 20+ years then add to it fixing everyone else junk on top of it...but no sense in complaining!

I think I saw your boat for sale on Powerboat Swap Shop...another one bites the dust..don't do it.

The fun to work ratio in boating if you do your own work is stupid.
Especially with the short summers in the midwest.
Divide the hours used by the money spent and I`m at $965/hour. ummm yeah
and that doesn`t include any labor. Yup this fair weather boater is calling it quits.

I hope not, its easy to rationalize when the weather changes, but when sunny and good conditions you'll be kicking your arse for giving away a piece of your life. Take a break to think about it before doing something in the spur of the moment you may regret later. If life dictates to sell then so be it, but if this came from a bad outing at seasons end stop and think about how much fun you had the rest of the year.
regardless, hope all works out well for you!

The amount of money spent to try to save more money later on this hobby is staggering. Just using decent hoses and fittings push up into multiple thousands. But every time I consider selling the boat the gf looks at me as if wherever the boat goes she goes, so the boat stays for the time being.

Even deep pockets have bad days.
