Replacing Water distribution valve.

Replacing Water distribution valve.
So I was winterizing this weekend. After draining the block, I was replacing the drain plug in the water distribution valve and after two turns it cracked on the bottom just below the threads. It seems easy enough to replace DIY. Am I missing anything?
Motors are 2008 6.2L MPI's.
