Default Gen V heads on a Gen IV block head gasket?

Getting conflicting information on the correct head gasket for 088 heads on a Gen IV bowtie block. I bought 17049 Felpro for marine application because I read on many forums that you need to use a Gen IV head gasket to match the block. I called Fel Pro tech line and ended up having to call back 3 times fro different reasons and got 3 different answers from a 17046 (too small of a bore), 17048 (Gen VI block) and a 1093.
thanks

17048 is the gasket for putting a mark 4 head on a gen 5 or gen 6 block.i believe this will work for you.

Call Felpro or Cometic, they will help you out.

Thanks for the information. And yet the saga continues. I live in Sparks and we have our own Summit here so it is easy to go and get parts and they also have a parts counter with guys to help you and they could not even find something I would use. They suggested a 10171 which is just a gen IV head gasket.

I also read on another forum they called Cometic for this application and they ended up telling them they had nothing. I will try and find it.

BTW: will be a better search if you use these terms: Mark IV block and Gen V heads.

GEN IV will not, since it's official, and thus more used name is Mark IV.

SB is correct. I run 1037 gaskets on my 525sc. MK IV block with Gen 5 heads. I have 60 hours with 5lbs of boost. No Issues. I have a 454 so my gaskets are a smaller bore.
