Default Carpet Backing

So the snap in carpet in my 25 outlaw has been leaving quite a bit of the backing on the fiberglass each time I pull it over the last couple of years. It gets everywhere and I'm assuming that means it's time to replace it. Is that my only option at this point? The carpet still looks great, just the backing is coming off. Thanks for any help!

It's the latex falling out of it. It's getting old and sounds like it was the wrong carpet to use in a boat in the first place. Anyway if you can deal with it let it be.
