Currently running a crossover on my new engine (ditched the circulating pump to clean up the front of the engine). I am running a Hardin Oil Thermostat to one of their billet remote filter heads and also a 3" oil cooler and everything is plumbed correctly. As for the thermostat housing im running the Hardin billet housing with -12an fittings but drilled and tapped the bypass to accept 1/2npt instead of 3/8npt for more water flow to the exhaust. In the dead of summer here in SC it runs upper 120s. Highest ive seen is 133*. Was wondering if i can run a 140* high flow tstat like the one from stewart components without having too much water pressure? Bypass hose is 9/16th I.D. to the fitting on the bypass on the housing with 1/2" npt fitting in housing. I am running the Moroso 3/4" restrictor at the moment. Have a 5/8" restrictor i can go down to but did now if the vented/drilled thermostats would be more consistent with the weather being unusually warm here this year to boat earlier? and is my bypass hose enough to relieve enough pressure? New sea pump and impeller. Thanks.
