Default adding full hydraulic to a low pressure hydraulic steering system

Ok so my Sea Ray has dual hydraulic helms that are connected to a low pressure non power assisted steering ram inside the boat. It is a pita to turn this thing from lock to lock. I was thinking of using the hydraulic ram to push against a brazil valve, but then I'm just pushing against the stock steering arm and it is sloppy feeling. I know this is not a 70 mph boat but any hydraulic steering is better than none. How could I use the stock internal ram to connect to a full high pressure external steering system?
