Engine run stands

What have you guys built for running these in your garage before going to dyno or being installed. I know the actual stand they are being worked on is not any good for that. Wood work? Steel only? Easier to buy one for $400ish? Just looking at all options.

Guess if you do a lot of floor time running. I've done several on 50.00 floor stands. 10-15 minutes of prep time and I get all I need.

I bolted some 4x4s and some casters to a pallet and rigged up a oil pressure and water temp gauge to run a long block last year in driveway. Wasn't pretty but worked fine and price was nearly free.
