I recycled that water back into the drum, under 10 minutes it was too hot to the touch. Never thought a 50 gallon drum would heat up so quickly.

Also don`t loop the powersteering pump, thats how I burned mine up.

Hmm, maybe I'll just recycle the intercooler water then. I suppose even in a closed cooled motor the water will get very hot in the headers where it's thinned out.

What else can I do with the power steering besides looping it?

Take the belt off.

Edit, you have a serpentine belt .. I have no experience with that , probably something simple

No need to have water running through the intercooler. The motor won't be building any heat for you to notice any difference.

Water will run through the intercooler if the raw water pump is turning. One stage of the two stage pump is dedicated to the intercooler. I know it's not necessary but that's how it's plumbed.

Icdedppl, why do you think running the power steering pump like that burned it up? Too much pressure?

To be honest I can`t remember if I looped the hose from one fitting to the other or if plugged something.
I thought I looped it but that shouldn`t kill it ?
I can`t remember now but I usually take the belt off .
The time I looped it (80% sure) it burned out the pump.
