I've seen 40 year old tractor engines that parts were hard to obtain for half gummy rings from sitting 20 years but not a boat motor that sat for one year

ok guys, I have an update. After a bit of lucas oil magic the rings have freed up. I have 130lbs in both cylinders which isn't perfect but it'll do. Also the smoke form the valvecover breathers has gone away. sounds like to me it my rings were just stuck a bit. I did a run in the chesapeake bay yesterday from the patapsico to skippers pier in deale. its about 30-40 mile ride one way. boat ran great! super happy to be back on the water. thank you all for your input.

It very well may have low hours. Unfortunately it only takes seconds to have a motor disassemble itself.

Thats great news!! Its true that sometimes you do get lucky. Im so glad its running well. Happy Boating and its possible there was a little water that got in there and sitting rusted up the cylinder wall, or something and caused the rings to stick a little and with the oil and running a little creating a little heat freed up the rings. But sounds like you got it all running good.
