T Bolt Clamps
1 Attachment(s)
I thought T bolt clamps were better then worm clamps and they would last longer. So far two of these have broken the same way. Appears to be metal fatigue. It came off my 08 truck but same things are used on boats. Was thinking of replacing them on the boat but after two I'm having second thoughts.

Depends on the brand. We use T-Bolt clamps in manufacturing of motorcycle exhausts. Five Star or Breeze have worked very well for us. Have tried many others, nothing seems to work as good or lasts as long.

Rob, any thoughts on RG Ray or Clampco out of wadsworth?

Things that bother me is most worm clamps start to leak a bit, but these just break all at ones. The crack is very small in nature, don't know if I would have noticed with regular inspections

Have not compared those on our applications, Clampco has been marketing Marine T-Clamps, is that the brand AllDodge has in the above photos?

I have been using them on all my many boat's exhaust for years. I do get mine from a local hydraulic shop. The one thing I do not like about them is the the T bolt or nut seems to strip out pretty easy. Never going on, always taking off.

I've never seen them break line that. Interesting. I messed one up royally (threads) a while back when replacing the trim indicator cables. I bought a cheapy from Advance Auto to hold me over that rusted immediately but still held the drive indicator on just fine. I replaced it with some I bought from Amazon and I thought they were great quality. To my knowledge (boat now sold) they are still fine. Just my experience.
