Default Hydraulic Steering Upgrade

Morning all, Looking for some insight on setting up dual pumps on my Latham hydraulic steering. I'd like the security of dual pumps in case of an engine problem which would leave me without steering when offshore. Had an issue with this last year, not fun. I assume that there is a check valve or bypass that needs to be incorporated to maintain or relieve excess pressure. Has anyone got any experience with this? Thanks
