Default Getting frustrated!

Been dealing with a carb leak. Thought i had it fixed. Started on the hose. No leak. Great. Head to the lake. Boat all day. Boat ran flawless. Get home and start cleaning up. Fuel puddled in the intake ****! Then I notice about a qt of oil in the bilge. Double chit!

Brand new quick fuel carb that i had to put new fuel bowls on. (Stripped the threads adjusting the float on one bowl and a replacement marine bowl was twice the price of 2 normal bowls). Now both are leaking at the accelator pump. Everything is tight. I guess i replave the brand new accelerator pumps?

The oil appears to be coming from the oil line connection at the block. Line goes to the oil cooler. No easy way to get to it either. How does it loosen up in 90 minutes of run time?

Got most of the mess cleaned up. Now to start working on it again.

Feel like everytime i take a step forward i take a step back!

Rant over.

You can over-tighten acceleration pumps and pull the 4 corners down so in between they will leak. Check the pump bodies for flatness. The oil line was probably not all way tight in the first place. Or it could cracked at the fitting...

Thanks im gonna pull the the covers off the old bowls and tey them with new diaphrams.

No idea on the oil line. I swore i tightened it but who knows. Only had the boat out twice. No leaks the first time.

Yikes !

I've had a quazzillion holley needle and seats out never seen one stripped.

I have never seen, but guess it could happen, leaking of the accelerator pump.

What the heck is going on over there ? LOL and Doh !

Yea. It was a total dumb ass move on my part. My son was talking to me. I thought i loosened the screw and turned the nut. Thats all it took. BRAND NEW QUICK FUEL CARB WITH 40 seconds of run time too. Quick fuel could only special order the bowl since it was the black coating ****. $150 for 1 bowl. I bought 2 polished bowls for $100. Its almost like something isnt milled right.
