Been looking into strainers, and found many who put raw water strainers both before and after the pump. If you have a strainer that has a clear catch you can see bits of the impeller show up when it starts to go, and they know it's time to change it. it also stops any debri from getting into your oil cooler.

I haven't been able to find something maintenance free as a replacement pump. I think the trick engineering wise is to design something that can self prime, flow tons of water, and also be maintenance free. I'm not sure something like that exists that isn't overly costly.

Water pressure?? I don't believe I've ever driven or ridden anything with a water pressure gauge.
