Do it right. Get on Internet and order a union that connects 11/2 to 11/4. Put hose clamps on it and be done with it. Don't glue hoses together this is fuel not water. You don't want any fuel leaks period.

I really don't want to clamp anything together or run the reducer backwards. It will create a dam inside the hose that I am certain will eventually leak.

Leaning toward just cutting the existing neck off and welding on a new one.

first get a 1 inch pipe nipple and see how it fits the hose. that Perko unmarked 1 inch pipe deck fill might be the answer...
