502 help!

2000 502 MPI mag. Could anyone tell me why my 502 would act like at an idle it ran out of gas and would not restart for about 2 hours.

Not sure I understand what the motor did as for idle but the not starting could be from a vapor lock. If you run out of gas and hold the throttle wide open the ECM thinks it's flooded so you get NO fuel. You have to just crack the throttle like half way and then it will get more fuel. Maybe you tried this I don't know.

I had just left a marina a still in a on wake area heading out and it just died. If it is a vapor lock is there any thing I could do?

I had the same thing happen,it was a spider that made a nice home in the fuel vent over the screen. something to check out.
