The in house guys are trying to get deep into your pocket, as AD has pointed out looks like this can be fixed with a little work and not much cost

My fault i didn't see the link .. i do now. Ok should i flatten that stuff on the out-drive itself with a file ?

yes, while oil fitting is out dress the surface of bellhousing, if its gouged bad from prying (i cant tell from your pics on myphone) you could jb weld and file the surface worst case scenario
