I don't have a problem with salisburys. Un-pretty, yes. But you can SEE them deteriorate. Especially effective at or near water level. Engine not running, they are closed. Now, you didn't take into account boat angle sitting in the water. They do side-side rocking a bit, when moored. Not so much bow dropping and stern lifting. When the boat is on plane and level, that exhaust could go up at a pretty good angle and that exhaust is gonna make that water leave. Idle, with stern all the way in, exhaust is still pushing the water out. Except for the valve overlap reversion pulses. But that is a different discussion. SME exhaust, different issue. And reversion will pull water up a 90° angle. But your drop angle is mostly for when boat is tied to the dock or beached or anchored on the sand bar. And 22 Donzi classic? No platform to reach over? I kinda like the plug thing. Maybe just use potatoes. See how far you can make em fly. .
