Another winterizing question

I absolutely cannot get to the block drains on my Nordic. I have drained the oil cooler and the exhaust. What are my options? Hook it up to bucket and run it and hope that I get enough antifreeze in the block?

Pull the big hose off the bottom of the water pump (the circulating pump on the engine). This will drain quite a bit of water out. Next hook it back up and remove that same hose from the thermostat housing. Now, stick a good shop vac hose into the water pump hose and let it eat.

great idea, thanks

Here is what I did. Sucked all of the water out with a shop vac, aprox 2 gallons each, filled the engines completely full of RV antifreeze then sucked all of it back out. Seamed to work very well. Fingers crossed

you'll be ok. I just wonder if Nordic uses some custom offshore mount that is potentially covering or obscuring your drains.

Sounds like you didn't drain lower circulating pump hose. Your RV should make it in to irculating pump. Raw water pump? If you can get to the lower hose you might want to crack it lose a bit and make sure u see some RV.

I would pull the hose coming from the sea water pump to the engine...probably runs through coolers then to the thermostat housing and dump in antifreeze till it comes out of the outdrives...lower the drives and you'll probably have to blow in it with compressed air or your mouth till it runs pink out of the drives...that way you know you got the pumps and coolers...sounds like you go the blocks good enough...I would fill them with -100 antifreeze after the second sucking if it was mine however

What kind of RV anifreee - the regular found everywhere store pink -50F isn't all that good. Especially if traps some water. There are vids on it, and I think one of the Chicago crew guys did a vid too ? Mike Tach ? Iseedeadpeople ? 2forceful ? or Mild Thunder ?

you can get -100 from any of the chain farm stores...rural king, family farm and home, tractor supply...I think lowes or ace hardware even sell it...at least around here....extra insurance in my opinion...I agree the -50 isn't that great

if your running a strainer pull em both and blow the water through the out drive
