Default 1989!Baja 226 won't plane out!

Bought this 1989 baja 226 sport this last May 2017 and have had problems since.. won't plane out with more then myself in it unless people sit in cubby, real nice shape interior wise and runs great, 500 hours on motor, 21 stainless 3 blade prop, does NOT have trim tabs, new into the baja world and getting frustrated, its trimmed down as far it can go.. could the styrofoam be waterlogged? Any other thoughts?? Boat sat for a 2-3 years before I got it, had to go through whole fuel system... Not wanting to tear up the whole floor and inside of the boat and unravel more headaches.. any feedback is great thank you!

What power? Verify prop. Have you done a compression check? Tune up? Verified timing?

I have not done a tune up or compression test, boat does 55 mph once on plane, I figured if it had low compression it wouldn't run well, just trying to brainstorm for spring time when it comes outa storage

That should have no problem turning a 21. I'd start with the simple stuff and tune up check compression. That thing should pop out of the water with a big block and a 21.

Also verify your drive is trimming all the way in. Don't just go by a gauge. That would make a huge difference too

Dont forget to check the celery stick on the drive trim rams - if backwards will prevent drive from trimming all the way down.

A 454 mag should launch that thing like a surfboard.
