Default little upgrade

Hi all . I'm sure this questions come up many many times but can't find it on site anyways just wondering what would be the most basic performance upgrade or hp gain ratio for a 98 454 EFI that would not brake the bank , I tried the props already with little difference, thanks all .

There is nothing else. Probably stinks to hear that but atleast you can think about other things as you lay in bed.

Nothing your going to do cheap to that motor that is going to give you a kick in the pants 5 mph upgrade. By the cam is small, the heads are puny, the crank and rods are weak points and anything you do is going to need the ecm reprogrammed. You are dollars ahead to buy a better motor and sell yours.

If you do decide to build, there is a good chance the 98 efi is a gen 6 block, which would be a 4 bolt main and a roller motor. Better heads, a cam, higher compression pistons and a reprogram, if done smart will put you up around 450 hp.

Another way is to deduce weight. Remove everything out of the boat that isn’t bolted down except the required USCG equipment. Run only with the fuel you need for the trip. This might give you 1-2 MPH

Try the search function and you will have enough reading to get you through the new year. And I believe the saying is break the bank

After reading all the threads it comes down to one thing and one thing only $$$
