Default CMI Big Tube E Tops

Anyone out there running CMI big tube 2 1/8 or 2 1/4" e-tops in a side by side V bottom?

If you are, what is the center to center of your engines?

Mike you looking at the etop race series? Or the normal etops. I guess I didn't know the non race series etops came in anything other than 1 7/8. According to their site the race series with 2 1/8-2 1/4 require 38" which almost would seem as a misprint but does show the 1 7/8 at 33 3/4" if I recall which makes sense cause my std 1 7/8 etops needed 33". All those c to c's are with short deck and non raised port heads. They definately allow for some finger room or floes measurements cause I was able to squeeze the std etops with .500 raised exhaust ports in a 32 5/8" c to c.

Or are you looking at the regular big tubes. Suppose that could make a big diff from the race series etop big tube. Thought you were going gen lll.

I've got both, Stainless Marine Gen III and I have 2 sets of CMI 2 1/4" big tube E tops. I'm most likely going to run the Gen III's but I'm curious about the CMI's. Unfortunately I'm not near my engines to bolt them up. I agree that the stats on the CMI website cannot be correct., 38" seems way to wide to be correct.

So when you say etops in that primary size I'm assuming their the race series. I'm going to pressure test mine tomorrow. All else fails have your dad drop off one of each and I can find out rather quickly within reason. Engine on the stand in shop right now.

Ive got some old log style manifolds that would work well If all else fails. I use them for weights on the front of the kubota. Lol..

The CMI's will be here, engines up there. I ended up buying the CMI's that were originally on my engines. As of right now I'm going to use the tails from the CMIs on the Gen III and just have new flanges welded on. Then I'll sell the Race E-Tops without the tails. If they work (CMI), which I don't think they will, I'll use them. Plus I'll also have a nice set of CMI mufflers to test. So between the Gatlins and the CMI's I'll get a change to test and report the differences.
