Plugging floor holes
We’re getting new carpet for our 226 Cobalt. I’ve opted for the “Velcro” method to attach the carpet to the floor. However when I remove the snaps what should I plug the holes in the floor with?

I'd either gelcoat them or just put the same screws in that held snaps in. Otherwise same size SS tapered screw. Resale someone might want to go back to snap in carpet. Just some ideas...

While it's entirely your choice I'm not sure if it was me whether I'd opt for the velcro system .
a) you already have the snaps on the floor in place , and
b) The one side of the velcro system that goes on the floor will be stuck on simply by its own adhesive backing.
Time and again I've seen in similar instances that side wilt and come unglued thank to dampness. The other aspect is the side that's on the floor will be a magnet for dirt and you know how grungy velcro siding looks once it's impregnated with dirt that won't come out .

thank you so much for the input- what I thought I would do (initially) is fill them with silicone caulk. If the velcro process doesn't work I can always re-screw in the snaps and install snaps on the carpet.
