The 139671 is the 525EFI cam. It will have slightly better manners around the dock.
I don't think you'll see any big differences between any of the ones you posted. I'd prob go with the 525EFI cam. |
Care to elaborate?? is there a bigger/better option I didn't post?? those were just the 2 I saw close to the 741 that was recommended??
Thanks!! |
741 cam (525efi) is plenty of cam for 454. That cam is not hard on the valvetrain, and if you have ever heard a 525efi (without mufflers) they definitely get your attention.

Soooo holy Christ is this “stock”??? This thing sounds nasty!! |
My cam is similar to 525efi cam. Its a crower 236/245 , .629/.632, 114lsa . 468ci. Ive ran it with 177 blowers, 250, and 420 blowers. Sounds good , and idles well. With dart 308s and cam installed at 110icl, peak hp was at 6000-6200. With eq heads that flowed better, and 114icl installation (4* retarded), it pulled to 6500rpm. Blowers will typically raise the operating range of a cam, esp a decent sized one.
i defintely would not go smaller if you want to make some steam down the road. |
Yea I def plan on upping boost and power down the road...when the 6-71 goes on I'll cross that bridge and yea I don't want to have to do a cam swap when I make that transition
|
Also spoke with the engine builder this morning and they agree those cams will work well...he is doing some research and I have to call him tomorrow morning with some other options from different manufacturers just so I know all the options
