joe,i am not saying a cast core camshaft won,t work but i won,t use them in a marine endurance engine, for me it,s just not worth the risk of failure.

Like mentiined, other than touchy tip in a 2000 cfm throttle body wont hurt anything on a big motor. I run a scorpion 2000 cfm on my 462 pontiac efi street car and have tested with them on my dyno on a 548 and wasnt no ill effects i can see

I'd go bigger on the cam if 700HP is the goal. Something like
HR-254/400-2S-14 IG Hydraulic Roller Camshaft for Chevrolet 1967-1995 V-8, 396-454 or http://www.cranecams.com/product/car...detail&p=24234 |
It would sound good anyway. :) |
AK Racing heads showed up today. They look like very nice pieces. Top secret camshafts are ordered, just waiting on the blocks to be decked now.

Gorgeous. Are the rims on top of the heads deeper than normal? More height for valve train? |
yes the valve train galley is slightly deeper which helps in many ways, valve train clearance, oil control, prevents V/C gasket leakage, and if one was to use a gasket with a spring oiler the spray would hit higher up on the spring... subtle differences make improvements, all in all this is a new casting and I love working with it...

Looking forward to seeing numbers. Should be a nice package.

Top secret camshaft I love it. What did your chambers and intake runners cc out at? |
