Default Fuel System Issues

Hi! I have a 2002 496 mag ho with 308 hours. Engine dies on me between 3000 - 3500 rpm's. Let is sit for 20-30 minutes and it fires back up like there was no issue. Try to get on plane and the same issue, it dies on me. No sputtering like I have bad gas. I pulled a sample from the tank and there is no water in it. I changed my f/w separating filter and there was a moderate about of debris in the fuel that came out of it. I do not have an inline fuel filter that I can see anywhere. Just bought this boat and have been running 87 octane (10% eth) with fuel treatments. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

If it shuts off like you turn off the key it is likely spark/ignition related. Fuel issues nearly always stumble/sputter. I'd look at the ignition switch, wiring, kill switch and major ground points first.
