The transmissions that came in my 43 Scarab are supposed to be Hubers. As most know, Huber transmissions have a sticker on them for identification and they come off over the years or if they are repainted. So here is my question. These were mounted to SSM V drives, there is no riveted plate on them anywhere. Every Velvet drive trans I've ever seen has an identification plate on them and it's riveted in. Even if was missing, you would still see at a minimum the rivet holes. Can anyone confirm that if these transmissions were just run of the mill Velvet drives, that they would indeed have a plate riveted to the case.
When I look at the old brochures, the 800 SC motors were supposed to come with huber transmissions, and the 525's came with a modified velvet drive. Just trying to confirm that these are indeed Hubers.
