HELP! 2003 Eliminator Eagle w/496
Been dealing with a two beep alarm...goes off every minute
code that registers is the camshaft sensor. We were told that this part is not available for our year of engine. Told we have to change a bunch of other parts in order for the sensor to fit. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this fixed? Thank you

I will get this info as soon as I can. The boat is at a mechanic right now. I’m trying to take matters into my own hands as this is the fourth mechanic that I’ve taken it to and nobody seems to be able to figure out the problem.

first and formost - just because you have a cam sensor fault does not mean you have a bad cam sensor. Huge mis understanding and this goes with the crank sensor in this mix as well. I would have to look at the scan report in detail. I would be able to tell more from that. Or scan the engine my self plus run it to determine if in fact the cam sensor is BAD.
Engine serial number is a MUST here. year model of the hull means nothing.
I have the NLA cam sensors made. About every 6 months I reorder my new ones. Most of them I ship overseas as they have huge issue in certain areas getting any cam sensors period no matter of the year for the 496.
That is correct info about many parts need to be changed for the early model 496 2001 thru 2003 depending on engine serial number . The cam sensor is NLA BUT I have the replacement made here in the USA for aplug and play no other parts needing changed period.
AGAIN I HAVE THE REPLACEMENT CAM SENSORS for the nla ones. There is 2 different cam sensors depending the OEM set up.

Your service shop can also get ahold of me as well. If they need need to know or tell you they are not interested in some smow on the internet whom thinks he knows - I promise you this is not the deal on my end. I really do not know whom has worked on more 496 s than myself. If so I want to meet them seriously no joke.
