I checked for vvacuum leaks and the starboard side was missing a cap on the back nipple. Weird, considering that is the side that acts the most normal. Would I need to readjust the timing on that motor now with the nipple plugged? Would that effect all-in timing? |
I would ck to see where timing is when idling high...maybe advance hanging up ?

I went and tinkered with the boat. Capped the vacuum lined coming off the starboard motor and had to adjust the throttle screw to bring rpm up to normal. All is fine there. No hung up/high idle.
Port side, although the cable has enough slack, the linkage is getting slightly caught up after I use the throttles to open it up. Any recommendations on lubricating it or anything I can do to have it operate smoother? It catches at the very end and only takes a slight nudge of the hand and it settles where it should. With more slack in the line, I get a different rpm reading than the starboard side motor with the throttles in the same position. It just seems like a slightly stuck port throttle cable is my issue. |
