Blue, I build those, 100% stainless. The water plug is on a swivel so that you can unscrew normally to drain water, pull a little further to access the oil drain. The nice part about the solid rod is it can be pushed right back in without the cable bunching up. The drain hose is just a regular hose kit that can be bought at most marine stores or I can supply.

Pep Boys sells a Fram kit for $15..1/2" 20 thread. Whats nice is there isnt any hose flopping around in the bilge.
My Canton oil pan has a 1/2" pipe fitting on the side. I just threaded a 1/2 bushing adapter and screwed it in. All you do is attach the hose and run it out the drain plug hole.

I use a Preluber pump.. I prelube the motor, and when it is time for an oil change, I have a quick disconnect fitting in the output hose on the pump.. I connect another hose to this one and hit the switch.. drains in a couple of mins.. no mess..

Those look really great. However with my boat I have twins and the is a stringer right down the middle. It is notched out in the lower back to allow water to leave the hull when you pull the plug. This would not work for me.

I have actually considered adding two additional plugs, one for each engine just for oil change, but really have concerns about drilling two additional holes in the transom.

The preluber is a good idea, just not sure you still get everything out of the pan?

Building a new 28 Howard again. (long story, freak storm in Wyoming swamped my old one insurance totaled it) Having a Paul Pfaff racing 598 quad super charged , detuned to about 1000 hp. Imco SC / standoff box with the new "secrect trany in the box" . Rode in a simalar 28 Howard open bow with the same motor with a B-Max drive last year 104 mph. (same boat hot boat tested) . Hopefully with the stand off box and short drive it will run even better.
