Brian tooley(trick flow heads) has a great video regarding valve diameters, valve lifts, and coefficient of discharge . Ill look for it later. Good topic though

definately a good topic. I know Jim has played around with a lot of that over the years. On small and large CI builds. Look forward to seeing the link.

ICE - that narrow space is there even without bore notching. The head if the valves are un shrouded will be that narrow - bore notching just narrows the cylinder for a small area.
The higher lift cam the more the airflow is blocked.
