you have the older reman 400 hp --- 383 Stroker it was offered for not many years and ended x amount years ago. It was only offered as a Merc reman inwhich is not remaned by Merc at all. But Merc has their name on it and covers all warranties. Maybe it was offered for 4 straight years or ?? was not in their line up for long.

Not sure if that fuel pressure is correct in the listing you posted as I think it was changed ???

The engine you have is somewhat a rare engine thru Merc in its a day being the 6 K --- 400 hp engine. . I would rather have the 383 than the 377 inwhich the 377 CID 6.2 was in their new production side as well.

Like I said the 383 only came as a reman engine thru Merc and was not offered in their NEW production line up.

here is the current 383 stroker reman offered by Merc. 5200 max rpms --- 350 hp.

and this is all currently Merc has for I/O s and inboards NEW and remaned engine packages. one can see the hand writing on the wall. This engines are giving way to outboards - meaning a very small line up for NEW and remaned.

Yeah I believe it was offered 2009-2012. I have three of these things but this one I'm just running stock intake, efi, cam, heads and ecm 555 tune. The bottom end is all new. Dart shp block, 4340 forged crank, h beam rods, clevite h series bearings, cp bullet forged pistons and ATI super damper.

that is correct 2009 thru 2012 ONLY it was offered.. 2 years of that had bulk sales, want to say 2010 and 2011 was best sales for it. It was dropped at the end of 2012 if I recall correctly. Has never been offered again as I would think possible a good repower for some of the tired engines that have become older.

Like I said it is a very rare engine - mainly for being a Merc engine at 6 K max WOT and 400 hp small block --- stroked 383.. Actually many during that timeframe did nt even know this engine existed with those specs.

I want to say in 2011 we installed 3 of those and actually one install was for a brand new left over hull from a westcoast builder that the bank repoed.
