yep, I can probably re-rig the fuel system correctly myself - but I want the guidance of a pro to at least tell me what he thinks the issues are after putting his eyes on it in person.

I realize that - I have no idea if anyone else pointed that out but I did. Get it all done for a safely correct install. Harbor fright spade terminals in a boat is improper install PERIOD. Also they provide extremely poor connections and all are exposed. You have prob bad power and grounds on top of the mix. Good luck with it.

The sad thing is it had a survey before purchase, I really am starting to believe a lot of those are not worth much. A good motor guy and a good fiberglass person would be better,,,,,,,, but again expensive.

THanks. Gonna pay the pros to do it at this point so I can get back to enjoying the thing instead of just working on it and getting nowhere.

Best of luck man, let us know how it turns out!!

People talking about the connectors and fuel fittings, however not the best thing but my boat has had all that for 32 years no issues feeding 600hp since brand new... I do however wanna redo the lines with new stuff and nicer A/N fittings but what is there does work.

His bigger issues is finding the power loss, starting with timing.

Kinda like a home inspection before purchasing. Even though banks and individuals typicality want them before purchase the inspectors have no liability after the transaction.

Im confident this will get resolved rather quickly with the right mechanic. Then things can be snuffed up to the OT's comfort level.

Went to barn and took pics, seems I have a return to filter head, but not the tank, then both filter heads tied together with a shutoff valve, tons of fittings that suck but still feed 600 hp with ease, no clue how but it does. As for connectors well every boat I had has the same crimp connectors not sure what else you use..?? I do know this fuel setup has always been same since new.

That mechanical pump you have Full Force, by itself will support 900hp.

personally, i see no good valid reason, to have all that extra nonsense in there. Carb fuel systems are cheap, and easy to set up. A simple baker style six valve pump, with a good sized fuel line and water separator, and done for under a couple hundred bucks per engine.

i wouldnt run one of those holley red pumps on a street car with a 454 , let alone an offshore boat with a hot 540+ci build. Jmo

What is the advantage of running a mechanical fuel pump and electric fuel pump?

agree, this is only this way because I left boat as is, I am getting rid of all that and going to located the seperaters with bigger inlets like I did mistress. I was just using mine as example of it not being his issue unless pumps are bad.
