I would say yes your going to get some reversion with that cam, I had the same problem this year using 496 risers, I made some risers very close to what crude intentions bought and my cam was a little smaller lift than yours.

OT Do you idle a lot of the time. And if so what rpm. Also was the engine built for auto or marine? I've ran some very questionable cams in my earlier years of boating. That was back when reversion wasn't discussed much and good forums such as OSO where not around to get good helpful info from caring others. I would imagine you'd undoubtedly see some reversion. If the deal is right and the engine is marine spec you can always swap out cam. Just my advice is all. Good luck. |
Where does the water mix on those risers? |
it mixes at the end of the riser. where the riser clamps in the rubber boot right next to the transom.

we like to idle around. I would say just a little above idle. 1000-1200 rpm. motor was buld for multi purpose. marine grade parts and gaskets but he was going to put it in a car. I thought about putting a different cam but them I'm losing power and would add more money on it

that looks great. wish I could do that... did you have one that didn't go up as high and have reversion issues? like mine ?

Yes the stock 496 risers which are higher than yours but a little shorter after the turn, we have a long-ish no wake zone probably 10-15 minutes at 1500 rpm before you can give it, it would revert bad!!!!
