Are the heads windsor based ? cant see enough in pics ? if so clevland will not work, just go to 351w ones for a 69. Looks like a lakewood bellhousing to me as well, I would call them and see if they have a part # for a arm they recommend. For the ball issue I have had to fab a bolt on bracket to mount the ball on before if there is no real boss area on the block to drill

on the heads, as ez said, it is hard to tell what they are but did you try a gasket for a 460? looks similar. they have been drilled and on the one it is outside of the cast flange which leads me to think they started with a raw head and drilled them for a bigger header because of the port size. just a guess tho.

Headers I have won't fit obviously. I would think a Windsor header would work. Hoping anyway. I'll just go buy a Windsor exh gasket. I'm just not familiar with the heads other than they have a great port and flow awesome. The engine has the 4 bolt main conversion and makes great power. Just need to get it in but stumbled a little on the Z bar, fork, linkage etc.
So let me get this straight though. The fork just pivots on the tab inside the bell housing as shown in the one pic. With not having the original to look for wear marks I just wanna be certain. There are a bunch of different forks available for these.

Been a while but I think 351-w exhaust bolts were straight across from each other not offset like yours.Think thats unique to clevland,351M/400 heads,

I would vote for going to a hydraulic throw out bearing.
Co-worker swapped a manual trans into his street rod a few years ago.
I was pretty impressed with the set up he had used.
The hydraulic throw out solved a LOT of issues and worked well.

Hey John, Nice car!, Boat looks sweet as well.
My brother had a 70 White Mach 1, that is a classic body style.

Bolt pattern
Tks for the compliments. Hyd the way to go without a doubt. Was just trying to wrap up quickly so my ol man and I can touch our cars off. Kinda neat we have the cars I had when I was in high school however engines have changed now as well as my 16 yr old son thinking their his already. Had to set the rev limiter down drastically for him on the Z.
Liberator your decinately correct on the exhaust mount. Windsor headers won’t work but either will the Cleveland/Boss. I may have to machine a new flange and use the headers from the boss but the tubes are much larger for the larger exhaust ports. Anybody run into this. I will see if I can get a casting number off one of the heads.
