Default Gen 6 seawater/fuel pump combo

Ok so we all know this is a horrible design. Fuel leaking into oil and whatnot. The gen 6 block has the block off. Has anyone put a regular mechanical on and then just blocked off the sea pump? Seems that would eliminate some hassle.

I think the problem is no eccentric for the pump on a gen 6 cam shaft. But a quality electric pump and bypass regulator is an option.

I put in a new cams and ditched the combo pump. Ran pumps from Mark IV design, no fuel pump provision.

I was wondering that. I would think some do or why put the provision in the block. Can’t rememeber if mine did or not.

The way I've done it was to remove the fuel pump and rod, use a blank plate where the pump mounts and use a carter electric fuel pump job done ✅

I have two basically new Carter mech pumps that pump 110gph at 8psi, but I think that your looking for something bigger.

most all of the std gen VI blocks have no block off, made for elec pump only, they started selling replacement blocks and engines thru GM performance that did have a fuel pump mount on them.

My gen 6 has the provision for mechanical pumps. Just don’t rememeber if my cams had the lobe for it. If they do I think I’m gonna go this route. Put mechanicals back on the block and block off sea pumps.

Just like Camalot said. Carter electric and away ya go. Been running that way with Gen 6 for 10 plus years
