Blowers force me to move temp and pressure senders
My new to me Littlefield blower manifolds have threaded water ports ports coming straight out of the front of the intake that will feed my exhaust. Can I use the rear water port locations that my old intakes never had to thread in my water temp and pressure sensors. And if so should they be connected at the back, or can I just thread directly into the port with the senders and call it good? |
I'm no expert but mine are in the back as you describe...The reason I did that instead of putting them towards the front is the hottest temp will be recorded at the back of the intake from what I read and that's why some guys run water dumps at the back of their intakes...I wouldn't think the pressure would matter...pressure should be pretty consistent throughout the whole water system I would think??

If you get into high water pressure situation is there any other ports to dump water, all my senders are in the front so Im using the two rear ports -6 to dump out the transom, relieving the heat in the rear of the engine. is your transom mount pickup adjustable.

I would think linking the two ports in the rear with a T fitting for your water pressure dump out the the rear would work fine. Just get a T fitting with a 1/8" port hole dedicated for your pressure senor. That's at least what I did for a NA builds. In fact I drilled and tapped the dart intakes just for that reason. Otherwise a ball valve on the T dump can work well also. If I recall I had it set up both ways. Not sure what a 100 % correct answer would be however what ever works best for your app and monitor pressure and getting rid of any unnecessary hot water always good. |
Speedy had good post also. I just like to install my sensor/senders in odd places. In fact I even installed water temp sender off a T fitting in the block drain before also. Just like to experiment with different locations for ideal readings. But definitely dumping the hottest water from the rear while maintaining adequate pressure would be beneficial. |
