Unfortunately a lot of the rigging is going to be unique to your particular setup and preferences. Then throw in the variables of parts availability, finances, machining access, fabrication ability and how closely (if at all) you want to adhere to uscg type regs, etc. Seems like doing it wrong once or even worse, paying someone to do it wrong once is the best way to learn how to do it right.

You mentioned liking the fuel filter mount in the picture you posted. Is that location going to allow you to access the spark plugs once the engines are installed?

Fuel pump is usually mounted low so it holds its prime when shut off and yes they push better than they pull, but if you want the pump protected from debris you'll mount a filter ahead of the pump. You also want the engine protected from pump debris which can happen if the vanes take a crap so it's common to mount a larger micron filter before the pump and a smaller micron after the pump. The cleanest way to handle after the pump components is to get a fuel log with the filter attached directly to the inlet and a bypass regulator attached directly to the far end of the log. Those components won't even be visible when the flame arrestor is in place and won't require any brackets.

Orient all your hose clamps so the screw heads are lined up for access after everything is installed. I used constant tension hose clamps on all the larger diameter 1 1/4 hose. I also installed spiral hose protectors anywhere a hose came in contact with anything including if it touched another hose.

I went to larger diameter plug wires just for the added abrasion resistance and ohm tested all of them before installation.

If you want the wiring done cleanly and correctly you'll get a new harness and build it yourself using quality ring terminal, adhesive shrink, service loops (or at least extra wire tucked neatly away) and wire loom everything.

Lightning headers. Brand new. Only put on for fitment. Check out their site for current pricing. Obviously you could end up getting a deal for my mistake!

Thanks! I'm making the new harness. Nearly there. Im with you in the clamps and the shrink terminals. I am also using deusch waterproof plug connectors. Plan to have a single plug on each engine that has all wires for gauges, ignition, etc.

Access to plugs will for sure be checked!!

I found some split nylon braided wire loom that I really like and will cover much of wire in it. I like the service loop and hadn't thought of it!

I'm sure I'll make some mistakes but the input here is helping avoid some!

Are they stainless steel,I boat in salt water
I need them to fit a 496

Headers are for a small block Chevy so won't fit 496
