Default Latham steering fluid level

so we just bought a 2005 353 Fastec with 525’s and the factory installed Latham full hydraulic steering.
it appears that the steering system runs off the starboard engine and still has the factory resivoir.
curious as to what the steering fluid level in the resivoir should actually be.
right now it’s full to the top and thinking when it’s running and warmed up it may overflow a little.
shouldnthis resivoir be this full since it’s using the factory resivoir or should it be a little lower to allow for expansion?
curious to what the correct level is from guys with same set up

We don’t have the Latham resivoir like that. Ours is running off the smaller factory mercury resivoirs

Level should be a quarter inch on dip stick when cold. You are correct when warmed up it will expand and purge. It is too full,

Thanks and that’s what I thought but wasnt sure if since it’s running off of the smaller factory resivoir if it needed to be a little higher level than normal

My external Latham reservoir does not have a dipstick. I have it hung on the forward seat bulkhead and plumbed to an IMCO pump cap. I keep the reservoir 1/2 full, hot (mine does not have a diffuser).
