Hell yeah. I see no reason not to. Everyone stressing over how big of cam they should use should max out on head flow and tunnel rams imo. No compromise to reliability when you’re doing the most in those areas.

And back to throttle body:
This tb was mildly modded to get flow #s from low to.mid 900s out of box to low to mid 1100s.
digesting dyno data last night ,with open headers its quickly becoming "small", at 5000 rpms im seeing map readings in th 95s, thats 1.65" of vacuum, i can only imagine on a bigger motor what would happen.

Can I ask what you think you would have ended up with Trq/ Hpr with say a modded 502mpi intake with the TPIS throttle body same combo and also 500/525 EFI mercruiser intake wondering how much better you believe this is over those

Hi Smitty, I don't post much anymore but I like to check the Tech section to see what you're up to! Out of curiosity, how much difference does the playdoh make when you flow the throttle body?

I dont have a good answer to that question. I made 560 hp from 502 w less compression and 10 degrees less .050 cam timing, mildly touched up iron heads but thats not even close with this having better heads, more cam, more compression. My 540 mule motor has made about 650 NA hp thru modded mpi intake, alot more cam, but less compression. If i were to guess, this intake gives up 20 or 30 ft lbs over a extremely modded mpi intake and gains 60 or 70 hp. I havent done a overlay to see some of the tq numbers from 500 efis i dynoed vs this but again, youd have to put these heads on other motor or swap intakes. Thing is, i have done all kinds of mods to 502 and 500 intakes, when u dyno them you always see bsfcs climb quickly at 5600 or near there. You use a cam that would peak at 6300 in s mpi motor, it still peaks at limit of intake and bsfcs climb there. This motor doesnt do that till at least 6300 rpms and then it goes from .520 to.
530/.540. A typical modded merc mpi motor goes from .540/.550 to..580 or 600 pretty quick beyween 5600 and 5800 WITH tb amd intake mods
