Think those spots are bleeding through from the aluminum or the risers would have them too.

Yes this is my engine. I had previously run a half closed cooling system on it which is the reason for that t-stat housing. I have since pulled the closed cooling and the circulating pump and am running a crank mounted water pump and a crossover tube and a more familiar t-stat housing.

i will stick to my post saying it is reversion,it may not be bad enough to cause a problem but that is not from normal combustion.what rpm doe,s it run at idling in gear?

The engine is new and has not been put in gear yet as I have not put the drive back on the boat yet.

The times I have run it, I set the idle to about 750 as I recall.

At this point, I am not going to worry too much about it. I have a better exhaust than my cam requires and I don't see evidence of actual water in the manifolds.

I'll double check everything and then she's going to the lake as is. I'll pull the risers again once I get the boat out of the water.
