That's why I'm thinking spinning them out might help the porpoising when I trim it up. Maybe keep the bow down a little better. I'm still learning the surface drive characteristics.

When I spin in she comes out of the water nice and level when I spun out the bow would be much higher

My boat will porpoise anytime I try to trim past neutral

I've sent an email to ZF to be sure. Everything I've read about them it doesn't matter what way they spin. Looking up the models they offer there is no option for left or right. I believe it's as easy as switching plugs on the solenoids.

Get bigger diameter props. will carry the boat better and will plane out much quicker

I had a 388 Hustler with Arnesons and the chine walk was terrible. It could be corrected by dropping tab but cost of losing speed. I was spinning in.

Aside from the 1 ZF model that is a replacement for a 71 series Velvet Drive they are all capable of reversing the engine rotation. However the engine must be standard automotive (left hand when it comes to boats) rotation.

The transmissions that cannot are any of the Velvet drive 71/72 series. As pointed out they will self destruct if used in this fashion.

Mine would chine walk real bad when I got close to a 100mph with my 17"dia props but when i put the 18"dia props it stopped

I got 17.5" and it only chine walks a little bit. Lol I'm going to see what Hering has to say. Their sport cruiser props start at 18". But at $6,500 each it's tough to just start trying different sizes. I wouldn't mind a bigger diameter and less pitch. I'm not looking forward to the day a throw a blade and have to spring for new props. Less pitch should be easier on the blades. But you have to spin them faster so who knows. I'll leave it to the professionals.
