Default Thermostat with blower and sniper

So I'm finally making some progress with this project. What started out as just freshen the engines has turned into a major re-fit and upgrade (with some fiberglass repair for good measure)
I have installed inter coolers and Holley Sniper EFI to my 454s with 177 blowers.
looking for some help with the cooling system, open fresh water system with new Hardin pump
Max surface water temp would be 72'F
What thermostat should I run to keep the EFI happy, 160 or 180?
That's the last piece for final assembly
Thanks, Jason

Programming really dictates what water temp to use. I vote for 140 or cooler.

As an extreme temp case in point, New Polaris sleds have 95-100*F t-stats. If they where tuned to be out of warm up at 160F then it would be a big fail, but they aren't.

Thank you, I didn't know you could program that portion of it

120 degree, ask around to blower motor builders. 120 seems to be pretty standard. Mine runs 120 all day here in AZ.

The Sniper won’t even go into learn mode until at least 160°. Some parameters may need to be adjusted.

I have downloaded a bunch of tech info from the holley site onto my laptop. A little light reading for the evenings (had to download because I don't have internet at home)
Hopefully I can figure it out, I'm a carb guy and this is my first venture into actually tuning with EFI

I’m NA so I can’t speak to the application with a blower, but so far I don’t miss the carb one single bit. I know some guys love swapping jets out in the middle of the open water but it’s not for me. I’ll play with the laptop all day long no problem.

was hoping to do a 120 but the tuners set it up and tuned it at 160

i think what ever the motor is tuned around to run it should be fine

Thanks for the input, I talked to my engine builder and he built it to run 160'. So I will set the warm up temp a little lower and try it with the 160' t-stat and keep an eye on oil and water temps. I have installed a larger thermostatically controlled oil cooler.
I'm looking forward to playing with digital tuning!
