Just looking to re-build or repower a 280 TRS, with a Merc Trans II.
Wondering if an LS block has been successfully been mated up with a Merc Trans II.
I like carbed boat engines for the ability to repair or replace on the water. Twin engines give a massive safety and security factor, that I don't have. So carrying a spare carb, twin elec fuel pumps, and a spare distributor module and coil. Along with a spare prop and nut kit, that gives me some safety factor with a single engine.
I'm toying with an LS engine, with FI, that I could have a spare computer. Maybe a spare crank trigger and a few pieces like that, would make the FI system repairable in an offshore environment.
Mating up the Merc Trans II to an LS then, problem free, is critical.
thoughts?
