8.2 mag ho ect b3x dts
I'm considering buying a 350SS Formula that has 2- 8.2 MAG HO ECT B3X DTS for power. It only has 175 hours on it in 8 seasons, in salt water. I will be moving it to fresh water. What do I have to look out for? Exhaust manifolds, risers? What else?

I would pass on those engines the first 3 years many issues with them - One service bulletin was 30 pages alone. Then you have the gen 3 cool fuel assembly --- the huge paint peeler internally causing issues.. Also prob the junkest / cheapest fuel rails I have ever seen on a Marine engine ever. Then You have 3 CATS per each exhaust manifold for the first 3 years of the 8.2 EC engine OEM builds. There is nothing special about these engines including internally.

What are the first 3 years? I'm looking at a 2011 boat. I may have copy and pasted the engine description from a 2013 now that I think about it. It is however the 8.2 HO mag 430 hp I think the first year the joystick docking was available.

2010 the start of this engine. Too much BS with this engine regardless. It does not have one GM part on it so expect to buy thru Merc in which is business for the dealers. Not a bad thing for me but honestly I would not own one especially with 6 cats per engine. That was a bad design and possible huge expense for the boat owner when that day comes. And it will come in due time.
