Lighting headers to dry tail pipes

Hey guys first off I would like to thank everyone as I have been non stop on this page reading and researching for a while now.

Long story short I have a 90 donzi black widow with a 502 that I believe was getting water reversion due the the old owner hacking up the header extension.

I wanted to get the extensions from lightning but he wont sell them

I have read about closing the holes and welding a bung to exit water out for the transom. Heard to make own dry tail pipes etc. What would the best option be as spending for a new system is out the budget right now. Does anyone have any jacketed pipes? Located in California. Thank you

Sorry i tried to post pics wont let me yet

Dang nobody? Iv looked and read from post 10 plus yrs old and see different options just trying to go a decent route

Where does the water currently enter the exhaust? You could make it a full dry setup but the entire length of pipe needs to be jacketed, including the length that passes through the transom. If the water originally entered the exhaust before the transom I wouldn't cap the holes and weld a bung on because it leaves the length going through fiberglass un-cooled.

It enters right after the collector. But the extensions are so hacked up from previous owner is why I think was gettin water reversion. Tryin to get my posts up so I can post pics

I've been reading post back to 2007 and still find both answer of make them jackets or dump thru hull

They are lighning headers that have the jackets tail extensions. I tried to order the thru hull extesnion but he wont sell them

Previous owner did not weld them but hack the part that slides into the collector and belive was gettin water sucked back in

Lightning won't sell the extensions? Why wouldn't they? That'd be the best bet. Either way the entire length of pipe needs to be cooled either by water flowing through the exhaust or around it in a jacketed pipe.

He say they are a addon. Dude was a not helpful at all of could afford to get new somewhere else I would

Can you explain why you think the extensions are causing the reversion? If the water enters at the collector that would be before the extension right?
